MAKE YOUR MARK

An initiative delivered by the Foundation, supported by The High sheriff of Worcestershire.

Make your mark is an initiative delivered by the Foundation in partnership with the High Sheriff of Worcestershire.

This is a unique initiative that provides diverse educational sporting and work experience opportunities for 14- to 16-year-olds who are or are at risk of becoming NEET (not in education employment or training). Thousands of young people in Worcestershire like with many young people nationally suffer from a lack of opportunities outside of a school environment or have become disengaged in education.

Make your Mark endeavours to empower and upscale young people by exposing them to a variety of vocational opportunities as well as using sport as a vehicle to build resilience and integrate them into supportive and community centred Sports Club settings. The ultimate long-term aim being to help them take positive actions towards a career, as well as placing greater emphasis on their mental and physical wellbeing.

WHO WE WORK WITH

Any 14–16-year-old (Year 9-11) who are:

Not in education

Or are:

In a Pupil Referral Unit

Showing a lack of engagement in a mainstream school

Persistent absentees

Hard to reach and vulnerable young people

Alcohol and or drug users

By offering a variety of diversionary opportunities, the young people on the initiative have chance to try their hand at new skills, develop new friendships and identify and connect with new role models in work and sport settings.
