Acorns Family Picnic

On Wednesday 28th August, Matt, Harry & Carol popped over to Acorns for the Three Counties Family Picnic, we had a great time providing sports activities and challenges for all of their family’s to take part in!

It was great day to see all the children enjoying the sunny weather and relaxing with there family’s in such a wonderful environment.

Dementia Christmas Lunch

On Wednesday 18th December we hosted our annual Christmas lunch at Worcester RFC

Over 40 lunches were served to our wonderful guests including a Christmas Dinner, Christmas pudding or a chocolate tart followed up with mince pies.

The Foundation staff lead a Christmas song for all to join in!

We will restart dementia café on 8th January 2025

Acorns Visit to Sixways Stadium

On October 29th, Worcester Warriors Foundation coaches Ben and Harry hosted an exciting sports day at Sixways Stadium for the Acorns Children’s Hospice siblings’ team children whose brothers and sisters face complex health challenges.

The day featured fun rugby-themed games and challenges, with many children experiencing their first sports session. Despite initial nerves, everyone quickly joined in the excitement, supported by the dedicated teams from both Worcester Warriors and Acorns Hospice. Alongside indoor pitch activities, the children enjoyed lunch in the stands and a behind-the-scenes tour of Sixways Stadium.

Lucy Waterland from Acorns said, “It was wonderful to see the children so happy and engaged. Events like this bring so much joy and create lasting memories.

Worcester Ukulele Band visit Dementia Cafe

Dementia cafe had a lovely visit from Worcester Ukulele band a tradition for over 3 years when it is “Stan the mans” birthday.

There was plenty of dancing, singing and jiving taking place with plenty of cake available for everyone to eat !

Harry Leads The Lionesses

Harry Led England women’s Amputee football team to Columbia for the first ever Women’s Amputee World Cup, playing Peru, Haiti and Kenya in the group stages. Before exiting at the quarter final stage against the USA!

Finishing 5th overall is an amazing achievement!

PUKDS Event at Hindlip

The Police UK Disability Sport CIC hosted a inclusive sports day at HIndlip, the West Mercia Police Headquarters on Wednesday 16th October!

It was great awareness for current police staff to see what the charity did for Disabled Police Officers across the UK

On the day we loaned our wheelchair rugby chairs to allow for the police officers to take part in Wheelchair rugby!
